Feeling very warm and humid in London today, cloud increasing as usual but a lovely morning. Hopefully we manage to hold onto the heat for the week ahead

BBC weather showing the storm symbol for Tuesday. I shall therefore it shall in fact be the hottest, driest day on record.

The beloved lightning symbol must be as rare and elusive as the 'heavy snow' symbol.

Talking of which if you look at net weathers temp chart for most of this summer its almost always been red for the southeast, which means pretty good summer down here.

So what are the chances of the same area being blue for a couple months of the coming winter to replicate the same weather pattern.

Two sunny days with calm morning conditions and bingo, sea breeze is back.

YIIIPPPPPEEEEEE

I look at the XC Weather forcast which is very basic and run from the GFS and it looks horrible later in week.

I read the MO forcast and it was looking like the south of the med here.

Much the same on here sometimes lol...

All change, now have half sun symbols, no heavy cloud and little rain.

Nice and warm here today, but lots of convective cloud around. BBC showing the lightning symbol with the rain Monday morning.

All change, now have half sun symbols, no heavy cloud and little rain.

The detailed picture for this coming Weds/Thurs is chopping and changing with regard track of the heavy pulses of rain coming up from France. Over the last few days it has variously changed from clipping the SE and being largely out in the North Sea, to moving up the west of the UK, and then this morning looking like anywhere across the south of the UK being at risk. This morning's GFS precipitation charts:

Thurs 13th 00.00 hours post-20040-0-94728500-1439108641_thumb.p 03.00 post-20040-0-35759000-1439108655_thumb.p

Back to today and it's a beautiful sunny start and 18.3C. The east of our Region should enjoy clear skies for several hours before the leading edge high cloud of the incoming front arrives. Rain shouldn't arrive until Monday.

Beautiful mainly sunny morning here and feeling very warm, sadly this afternoon spoilt by loads of vile mid level muck moving in from the NW. May be some breaks in the cloud still though, hopefully. Made the most of the lovely morning by going for a 5 mile walk around Windsor Great Park followed by a cheeky pub lunch :-)

Edit: It's 5pm and the cloud did indeed break up nicely, with temps up to a very pleasant 27C. Perfect temps and it'll be another BBQ dinner this evening here, yay!

Lovely post stainesbloke - it just summed up the day nicely! Me and Mrs Blessed also enjoyed a trip to the pub this afternoon and a nice bbq in the garden this evening and it was still 21C at 20.30. It doesn't get much better for a British summer's day! Hope we get a few more weekends like this before summer's end.

Sounds like you had a nice day too! We haven't had many weekends like this one this summer so have to make the most of them. Was a perfect temp today (25-27C here), didn't feel too hot in the sun and the air was clear, lovely. Apparently the 12z GFS was pretty grotty, haven't had a chance to look. Will leave that til tomorrow lol...

So having been excited for most of last week at a predicted good week this week for our camping trip it's now looking v unsettled! And what's more the rain is coming up from directly south as we move further south to our campsite in the New Forest! Hoping it's not as bad as some forecasts are predicting! This weekend was fab though! Wish us luck, camping with a 15mth old for the first time plus our other two!!!x

It looks like the main area of rain could (maybe) miss here. But, there are a line of ,erm, cells (?) after the main area of rain that could hit here.

Absolutely, this weekend just gone was the perfect weekend, even better I was out all weekend with a trip to the seaside and music and nature event at a local country park.  Summer is not over yet and I hope she puts out a few more weekends like it.

Gentle rain here, it is only 21.8c  but the humidity is very high.(91%) Been waiting for this elusive fresher air that the forecasters keep predicting, to arrive, but one month on and it is still humid, so much so that my chocolate stash has melted. :cray: The rain is now making it feel tropical.  No thunder, this is more likely IMBY later in the week. :good: Had 0.1mm of rain today.

Cloudy but warm and very humid, some occasional sunny spells that seem to just increase humidity.
