Don't want nothing like this though, always the same nothing or too much, why not just enough rain to make everything green again.

Looks like it's just going to glance off the far south-east corner judging by the trajectory on the radar. MetO app is still forecasting heavy rain from lunchtime onwards though, at least IMBY. You're another 30 miles or so east, so who knows?

Hi all. Was expecting it to be raining by now? Rushed off round the shops early to avoid it. Very muggy though with humidity at 68%.

Edit; Raining now!

Met office me down for 19hrs of heavy rain kicking off at lunchtime today. That's quite impressive even for a computer forecast.

I'm feeling a little bit more hopefully from around Wednesday onwards?

The rain has started in Rye, there is going to be a lot of rainfall over the next 12-16 hours. A lot indeed this will help tip the balance, short term pain for a long term gain? I do think Flooding is going to be concern with MO even considering upgrading to Amber. Also gales for coastal parts especially on the western flank of the low as it heads in low countries the isobars really do pack together, peaking around midnight into early hours not typical of July is it. :)

Been raining here since 10.10 this morning and looks like intensifying later this afternoon. Met Office talking about 1 months rainfall in 1 day !!.Currently 15.6 degrees and think it will start falling a bit as rain gets heavier. Oh for this system to have come last winter, reckon we would have been looking at 6-12 inchs of snow and everyone on here going bananas lol!!

Rainfall still on & off here. But some filthy looking skies around!

Radar shows the rain is somewhat patchy in intensity, but some very heavy bursts moving along the Channel coast.

I'm guessing the heavy stuff is lined up for the middle afternoon, then!

MetO seem pretty confident of about 1-2 inches late this afternoon and into this evening in the South/East and East Anglia and on dry ground that could cause flooding. Be a big cock up if they get it wrong only 4/5 hours away. Raining steadily now.

NMM suggesting the most intense precipitation for our Region will be this evening, with the strongest winds early Saturday morning as the Low slips away to the East.

Still in a dry gap this will not last for long I guess earlier on it was showery precipitation. I expect the mass of rain to intensify if we are going to get anywhere near the heavy rain modelled. It was supposed to start around 8am here.

Rainfall totals from NMM, until 6 o'clock tomorrow morning.

Quite spectacular for those in 'the zone' if this were to happen.

It's sunny here! (Joking of course) :vava:  No, it is cloudy and raining for once, 0.1mm of rain and counting :good: Where are those monsoon rains which were forecast :search: Must be too far west. It was quiet here this morning, no banging or drilling at 6.30am for a change, should rain more often in the summer. 15.2c

Looks like 70mm quite widely! If that's anywhere near close, somewhere could hit 100mm. Flooding likely in places.

absolutely chucking it down!

Anywhere in these 2 red lines highest totals today Almost mimic of the Thunderstorms

How do you know that will be the case? the depression is slowly moving eastwards so I'd say anywhere from those red lines eastwards and as the LP moves east they'll be a 'wrap around' with further heavy rainfall.

The ground needed this rain, as long as it warms back up again and we have a good August, I'll be happy.

There is a disgusting smell coming from outside that smells like rotting vegetables. I presume the farmer has put something on the fields.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
