Lovely day, lots of sunshine, 26C at work, cooler at 24C back in Chelmsford thanks to that easterly wind.

Very little happening over in France at the moment, lets hope it kicks off soon.

The weekend is looking very nice, especially tomorrow after the storms clear.

27-30C tomorrow, these temperatures being felt even in coastal parts of East Anglia thanks to a south westerly wind.

A front will push through the region at some point during the weekend, this will have nothing on it apart from some thicker high cloud which could suppress temperatures on Sunday, though the mid-twenties is still possible at least.

Quite happy that we are in with a chance (albeit slim) of something severe.

Much rather be all in on that than a fair chance of something thundery but less awe inspiring

Another one of these would be nice from last year..... Taken at Camber Sands . Apologies for the quality of my archaic Galaxy 2!!

PS... I know it wasn't a wall cloud (just got a bit excited!!)

I was going to go to the Ace cafe but it's full of chavs on scooters on a Friday night!!

Whats your definition of 'chavs on scooters'?

Do you mean youngsters on twist & go's or people like ME who have spent years riding classic Vespa's & Lambretta's and travelling the UK/Europe?

That's what I'm thinking, since they put us all on the meter it's costing me loading keeping the garden looking nice, got no suitable area for a waterbutt but even my mate who's got one said his been dry for bit

I know what you mean, costing me a fortune too, haha

Twist and goes, I would link a video but it's wildly off topic. Feel free to PM me and I will share a youtube link.

Lovely day today, temperature nowhere near the max 30C forecast but perfect conditions for me today at around 25C with a breeze.

Hopefully some fireworks to end the day now

Don't bother looking at the skies peeps, it isn't going to happen till past midnight, and if it does it's gonna be quite a spectacle!!

Arrived at Heacham Norfolk for long weekend with family.

Got the camera charged and ready as there are some fantastic views here along the coast and out to sea!

Humidity feels very high now.. sun going down, air getting.. warmer?

Love storms but got to travel tomorrow up to Silverstone for my dad's birthday present so hope whatever happens isn't too disruptive. I'm staying up late regardless as the consensus seems to be the SE gets active in the early hours. Fingers crossed I'm not too far East.

Happy viewing/cowering!

This afternoon's NMM 12z run still showing the heaviest precipitation is well to the west of us. Nevertheless a few clusters of rainfall over Norfolk that might just indicate that one or two isolated storms may break out over our Region.

The Lightning Detector at 20.00 seems to support the NMM with lightning off the coast of southern Ireland. (And the Italian Alps disappearing under an absolute mass of lightning strikes!).

The most favourable CAPE/LI values are at 12 noon tomorrow over Northern Ireland.

I hope the models are too down-beat and for any of the gang getting together for some storm chasing later this evening, I'm really keeping everything crossed that you get a result!!
