Well, check the Radar out in the Am with lightening record. To be fair it was not directly north of town it was over haughmond. When I could see the lightening.

Still sweltering and things developing but think it will be to the benefit of up north, as you say. Lots more chances fort he biggy this week. It's coming!

Seems like the western boundary of the rain was the A49. Whitchurch up through Cheshire was getting hit, now seems like something's forming over Telford. Still can't get anything here.

Wondering if anyone can answer my question here. Very curious indeed as to why these cells are moving at such speed?

What I would do for a decent storm like those, I mean yeah I've had a couple thundery showers this year but it seems so hard for my area to get something substantial

July 17th last year, it died pretty much in my doorstep... June 2012, more of a thundery rain event

I guess I will just keep on waiting but really disappointed these didn't come earlier as I would of been able to chase

Still an impressive view from what must be 30 miles away from my viewpoint

Constant inter cloud flashes and also lightening visible, which at times is slightly coming out of the cloud tops edges.

Sprites perhaps? Very rare to see but if they are coming out of the cloud tops in the distance......

Clouds are lit up, must be something at last, oh, no it's the moon. Radar shows it going mental 20 miles either side of me and still we get nothing. Cloud all day while everywhere got 30C, cloud all night while everywhere else gets storms. God I hate living here sometimes....

Now that is a tedious post! Moon? Try moving lol.

MCS are renowned for steering NE into Belgium I sense this may not happen  well it has my interest not a small angry cell affecting a 1 mile radius 300 miles to my north - happy for those up north. :)

Off to the Isle of Man tomorrow evening and it seems the storms came a night early. Had a text from a friend I'm staying with and they've had it good there this evening! Looks like I'm also going to miss any thunderstorms back home on Friday night grrr!

I leave Leeds for just a couple of days... And look what happens!

Oh well, good luck all up north!

Don't worry Saint - there's actually no storm in Leeds, but a brilliant light display further west. It will skirt by to the north.
