Any chance of me catching what's in the Irish sea?

Gorgeous cumulonimbus pileus to my East, which bust straight through to continue climbing into a Cb in moments. Massive updrafts - somewhere north east of here will get a pasting!

Doubt it, unless is back builds SE, it's heading North.

I feel like there'll be some great cells kicking off soon, there's still a ton of energy in the atmosphere.

Kicking off now over Skipton. Proof that there is plenty of energy.. Bit further south would be nice

Here are the lightning strikes so far today - quite lively for some at least!

Nice - looks pretty much in line with most of the forecast risk zones in my opinion.

How often do you see the Northern Isles get more storm activity than the South during plumes

Lots of towering clouds bubbling up around Newcastle again now. It feels very humid, but the temperature is stuck down at 20C now thanks to the earlier thunderstorm, and a sea breeze, so I'm not sure how much energy is about up here.

That storm over Skipton appeared out of no where. Very sweaty out there.

I think we have to wait to tomorrow morning for the southern half of the Uk across central southern , midlands and south eastern parts of England  to see some fun with thundery rain and thunderstorms ! A cold front crawls across the country tonight and into tomorrow bringing fresher cooler conditions in its wake , some places will be at least 10 degrees down on today,  :)  :D

The Pennines are causing these showers to break out. Between here and Skipton, south I can't see any forming anvils (got a good clear view), just cirrus and some ACas.

Darkening skies over Huddersfield way, looks like potentially something building.

There are a few other free to access WRF's

ManUniCast 4km http://manunicast.seaes.manchester.ac.uk/index.php

ModellZentralle 12 & 4km (just about covers south east England) http://www.modellzentrale.de/

RipWRF 3km https://ripwrf.info (this is my own project which has been in development for about a year)

All ARW cores initialised from GFS (as are the NMM's at Meteociel/Netweather etc)

Cool! Cheers mate

That cell near Skipton has gone from nothing to looking quite potent on radar within 25 minutes. No doubt the orographic influence of the Pennines will encourage its development as it trundles north.

The Atmosphere is thick here. Occasional Ac and tiny tiny Micro Cu.

The sky is in full tease mode.

The tension is palpable...

Both in the air, on the radar (Blast you Anaprop!) and on the forum.....

You Guys are awesome and so is this weather. Reminds me very much of when I discovered and consequently joined this forum, way way back in 2006.

Wooow! Whole atmosphere feels like it's stalled here. Massive tower right over me and feels like I'm under a dome! Something's going to give!!

This is what it looks like here in lochmaben. Its not a great pic but that lighter stretch is really quite peachy in colour. Skies getting dark to the south. Anyone reckon i'm in with a chance?
