With a sea breeze is feels quite pleasant, don't know what the temp is because my local station is broken.

The sky here just screams explosive convection :D More sun breaking through the AcCas clouds now - hopefully this will help build up CAPE levels.

Feeling very ripe out there, that wind just feels like a hair dryer at the moment!

Higher temps should surely mean the capping could be more widely broken?

Yet again, we are going to lose out. Lovely massive bank of mid-level muck has moved in and is currently completely killing the temperatures. Actually feeling a fair bit cooler than yesterday here atm, after a promising start.

That muck has now come in here, it feels notably cooler outside.

Currently 29c/16c here and feeling very humid. Not much thundery activity in the UK as yet but I feel this will change this afternoon and evening.

Not sure any 'big bangers' will be able to knock out this blasted storm shield today... although I suppose it is still the morning. So perhaps still enough time for a surprise to pop up (even despite some of the mid-level cloud getting in the way).

Having said that, I feel Friday into Saturday should hopefully offer better chances for some high-quality thunderstorms.

Well done to those of you so far getting some bangers though.

The North sea is keeping temps pegged way back here along the NE coast, pretty much little difference between temps on the surface and 5000ft..!!

Absolutely scorching here, not a cloud in the sky. Still looks as though we are too far south for any storms today, which is a shame since later on today the cape values are huge!

A long way to go yet though! Good luck everyone

A lot of cloud in North East Wales as well...felt like it was going to be an absolute scorcher earlier on, not now though.

There are plenty of BIG surprises to be had yet with regards to storm action. Including yes Fri into Sat. Import central?

I was quite disappointed as previously it looked as if there was big potential Friday midday, however it has reduced the northward extent of the instability allowing overnight imports and potential in eastern areas Saturday too.
