Just having some welcomed heavy rain in Honiton! Still only a short shower and unfortunately no thunder.

Lots of William's favourite cloud about today, ACCAS.

Wind's picked up here which is quite surprising.

Speaking of clouds, Hopefully next week might produce some pileus clouds.

I've only ever seen one and that was a few years back!

Just had a couple of unexpected rumbles of thunder to my NE as an area of heavy rain moves through.  :)

Any Altocumulus Castellanus?

I did see what looked like to be Ac Cas but it seemed quite low based but yes also some widespread altocumulus at times.

Quite an intense clump of showers over Dorset, anyone under that lot?

Dorset looks clear apart from a few drizzly patches. Do you mean Wiltshire/Berkshire?

Yes! Is that lot moving E or N? There were a couple of sferics earlier but looks like just rain at the moment...

I have 52% storm chance according to the netweather local forecast for tonight 7 until 10. Even has the Lightning cloud symbol.

And yet no speak of storm potential even though the weather outside looks like it could do something

It just looks like rain, it has weakened a bit on the latest update.

It gave some huge drops of rain here, didn't amount to much though.

It's moving NE, having left a large area of Dorset in the dry I think.

We had that big blob of rain that affected Pilton pass over Swindon, nothing stormy but a welcome drink for my garden. :)

Latest GFS coming out now with hints of an upgrade on last run. Certainly next weekend is looking hotter than the 6z run.

I'm getting lightning symbol for Leicester via Accuweather, whats going on peeps??

Warm humid evening, a couple of hundred J/kg CAPE, probably only just meets the hypersensitive threshold for thunder. There'll probably be thunder forecast over a very broad area, with a couple of strikes popping up here and there.

Yes, same here, the heaviest rain lasting just  a few minutes. but giving 5.0 mm in total. It's now dry with sunny intervals.
