There is some truly pointless drivel on this thread tonight - and whilst my post is off topic it fits in a treat

Your little imported pups are really going for it. Keep patient - all is good for some of you. La France peut offrir...

I just have that feeling something's still going to happen... Convergence will be coming into play now? Does Nocturnal Cooling have an effect?

Hoping those cells in Kent will move further north-westwards.

Clouds have broke here in south Bucks, can see some cumulus bubbling.

Sometimes you've got to bite the bullet. If people wanted to see storms so bad, then get out and chase them. The risk from my now casting point of view has been abundantly clear that the southeast was most likely to see the electrical stuff. I've been observing the areas with the highest temperatures and sunshine, therefore it is in those areas that capping is most likely to be broken.

Besides, we have the rest of June, July and August to get through yet!!

I have no idea why people are so upset. this happens 95% of the time. It's very rare over here when the forecasters predict storms they actually happen. MetO are notoriously bad for forcasting 'storm days'

Just keep watching the radar, and if something happens - great, if it doesn't, there always the next hyped up day to look forward too ^^

Yes, there is a diurnal bounce as the higher end of the PBL cools slightly faster than ground level.

Disappointing for south wales after all those warnings. Its just patchy light rain

Quite alot of knashing teeth in here already regards forecasts that have suposedly gone pear shaped, much of it unfair and unfounded imo especially at this early stage.

However for your neck of the woods i'm inclined to agree, there did seem a focus from several forecast outlets to highlight parts of Devon and South Wales for exceptional rainfall,at this stage looking nothing more than a decaying frontal episode.

No point crying over spilt milk!  The NNM4 A high resolution  model  06z shows no rain whatsoever for the majority of  southern Britain until this evening. We have had a rather damp afternoon with 4mms recorded. Cant say Im expecting any thunderstorms here just some heavy rain overnight, which if nothing else will do good for the garden.  :aggressive:  :D

Certainly must be past 6pm, then. Doubters, review your posts and hang your head in shame. Then have a beer. Then enjoy a very interesting weather evening :)
