15th June 1215: Magna Carta

Recommended Posts

I'm not very familiar with the Magna Carta.

Scotland's equivalent (document of historical political importance) is the Deceleration of Arbroath (1320), which it is generally agreed is the basis for popular sovereignty in Scotland (as opposed to parliamentary sovereignty in England) which exists to this day (e.g. 1989 Claim of Right, past and more recent instances).
