Compared to last week, these storms do not seem elevated, they are are being spawned further down in the atmosphere.

Managed to catch this strike as it moves off north towards channel isles.

I'm just hoping this big west mess in the channel doesn't prevent the growth of further thunderstorms!

Storms even stretching towards Paris now. These are in a much higher CAPE area too, so prepare for further outbreaks and progression of these as the cap that was clearly forecast not to be broken has indeed broke! Undercooking of temperatures perhaps?

Was thinking La Frenchie after reading the plume is originating from France not Spain this time.

a point to note- dont take forecasts/graphics as gospel. they are only an estimate in weather such as thunderstorms. its like trying to predict all the placings in a horserace just using the odds. it will never be spot on. thunderstorms come from unstable air which by its very nature is unpredictable. those french storms are unlikely to make it here. what we are waiting for is the warm, humid airmass to arrive here- thats when we should see our own home-grown storms kicking off. which incidentally isnt forecast until tomorrow afternoon.

if its storms you want, dont lose hope. some of the best storms i've seen weren't predicted....
