That's the coldest start to June since 1989 which opened at 8.7C  However despite that very cold start June 1989 finished with a mild CET of 14.6C and led to a very hot summer!  History repeating perhaps?

Does anyone know if there was a June 2012 CET thread? I tried to find one last night but had no luck.

There was a June 2012 thread and a lot of the CET threads end up in the archive although some have gone completely such as the September 2011 CET thread.

Must have gone then. I did wonder why I could find May 2012 and not June. Thanks anyway.

The minimum today is 9.2C while maxima look like reaching close to 17C, so an increase to around 11.9C is likely on tomorrows update.

After that, the 06z GFS has the CET at:

12.0C to the 4th (12.3)
12.8C to the 5th (16.3)
12.6C to the 6th (11.5)
12.5C to the 7th (11.7)
12.3C to the 8th (10.9)
12.1C to the 9th (10.3)
11.9C to the 10th (10.4)
11.9C to the 11th (12.0)
12.0C to the 12th (13.0)

Close to 2C below the 81-10 average by the 10th.

Wow, it would take a decent warm spell just to get back to average from there.

A sub 13C June would be incredible but sadly i'd expect a near average outcome.

Same. Many months have started off so well for below average temperatures and then been ruined at the end. May 2012 and June 2012 spring to mind. I don't know the exact figures but I think up until the last week June 2012 was close to the 13C mark.
