Just to report that moderate rain set in here about 30 mins ago.

I've also just heard that thunderstorms have broken out around peterborough and are reported to be moving directly west

One can hope!

Temp 16.5C and 1.8mm so far.

MIA

I'm hoping too but having just looked at the rainfall radar that line of storms doesn't appear to be moving much at all.

It looks like a line of convergence with showers/storms forming and dissipating along its' length without much movement east or west.

lucky to avoid the rain all today, now got an east/west split over me, settled skies to the west and unsettled skies to the east, wind coming from NW now so, should be clear cold night

I was thinking the same myself, P.M.

It looks like being the 8th consecutive cloudy August in this area with just 78.3 hrs of sunshine so far this month. The last sunnier than average August was in 2007 believe it or not.

You needed a boat on the M6 at 6am not a car. A tremendous early Autumn storm.

It's not autumn. But if it pleases and comforts the minds of the winter lovers it can only be good!

The best time of year September to April is almost upon us. :)

I find September the least interesting month of the year.

Summer to me the most interesting time of year now maybe I`m changing with age.

Excluding this summer though lol.

Onto today though which was above average for interest with some heavy showers earlier, makes the rest of the summer look pretty poor on average for convective showers and sun.

Nothing more than a few spots of rain here so far; all the activity seems to be a few miles  to the north and south.
