But what else can people post about when the weather has given nothing but the same cloudy, boring, cold dross for over a month? Maybe we should have a "Fantasy land regional discussion" where we can post what we want/expect the weather to be doing....

Great idea...... When is the snow coming :yahoo:

Next Tuesday the models show snow for Birmingham, 33C and thunder for Shrewsbury, 10C and drizzle for the South East. With the first two swapping places for Wednesday. Bring it on!

Really hope the snow for next Tuesday doesn't get downgraded. Would be the first time I would ever see the white stuff fall in Summer! :p

No marginal uppers or sudden wind shifts sending it all to Derbyshire, honest. 33C in Shrewsbury, 0C in Birmingham, the boundary between the airmasses should be interesting. Tornado for Telford?

Beautiful morning here in N Worcs. 15 °C already, so the early coolness is already going. Sun is rather hazy and not continuous, but I'll take this over most of the last week!

Wouldn't be surprised if the tornado was directly over Connor's house! :spiteful:

A more promising start this morning, though, with some decent sunny spells. Looks like cloudzilla is taking a rest. 16*C at the moment.

Best day of the summer, well one of them.
As tonights fronts coming in are weakening looking at all 3 forecasts today, can get away with some drizzle or patchy light rain, looking good this coming week. :good:

Best Saturday of the summer here in the end (not that it takes much doing), still a lot more cloud than would of liked but max of 23.5c made up for it luckily.

A dry night, currently cloudy with some blue sky temperature 16.2C.

Should remain dry all day, hope so as we're having a bbq this afternoon!

Just 7.2 mm of rain in the first week of this month which makes it the driest first week in August since 2005.

Yesterday, with a maximum of 22.6c, was the warmest day since July 1st.

Not the horrific drizzle fest I was expecting, mostly cloudy yes but warm 19.2c and the odd bright spell.

Not sure what it was like here earlier this morning, but there's some decent sunny spells around at the moment. Turning out to be a much better day than I expected... So far! Temperature a respectable 20*C.

Edit: seem to have spoke a bit too soon. Lot more cloud deciding to gang up on Solihull.

Hi all, in looking up catch up TV i came across this  (What's Wrong with Our Weather?) can't believe i missed it

I found it interesting more so the second half, with the UK could be in for more cold winters :cold:  :cold:  :cold:  (Catch up 03/08 BBC FOUR)

Physicist Dr Helen Czerski and meteorologist John Hammond make sense of Britain's extreme weather and discover that recent extreme winters are connected by the jet stream.

Overall been a very wet start here to august with just under 1inch.

Tonights/tomorrow`s morning rain doesn`t know where to go,early forecast showed it spead further north, now its back the south again, and should get away with a dry night maybe some patchy drizzle/rain.

Yesterday was superb -- I was at Slimbridge, so I'm not sure how much cloud there was up in N Worcs, but down in Gloucs it was hot enough that I was happy to have chosen to wear shorts. Not often I can say that this summer!

Today's been okay as well -- a bit gloomy around lunchtime, but brightening up since then and now there's broken cloud and it's 22 °C. :)

Better day than forecast overall, mostly cloudy for the bulk of the day but no rain and muggy/warm then long sunny spells after 4pm and a max of 21.5c
