29.5 °C here! Come on, weather gods, just let me have that extra half a degree and then you can do what you want! :p

Yeah still climbing here. Almost 30c now. Can really feel how humid it is just by sitting down and doing nothing!

Gah, made it to 29.9 °C, but then fell back by almost a degree in 10 minutes. That really is annoying! Still hoping, though...

Well we should have been watching the thermometers, and watching the lightning detectors, instead everyone is watching the satellite for breaks in this goddamn muck. Why is it here? An active trough in humid air should have cells, squalls, heavy showers, hot air masses should be clear. Instead all we've got is this grey crud everywhere.

Done it! :D Hazy sunshine here now, and that's proved enough. 30.5 °C as I type. This brighter patch should be on its way north now, so good luck to anyone else still waiting for the big 3-0.

Good to see reports of 30°C now being reached elsewhere in the region.

It does indeed seem to be brightening up a bit now.

Completely overcast, no sign of any activity within 50 miles. Sun seems to have given up attempting to burn this rubbish off. Good old Shropshire, you can always be relied upon to produce boring nothingness when everywhere else is either 30C+ or being thundered on.

Hopefully that will push the cap and trigger some big storms, that could actually be very good news.

Just got back from the blissfully cool Touchwood shopping centre in Solihull to find the temperature has *finally* reached 30°C here, yaaaaaaaay!

Surprised by the amount of storms mentioned on the lunchtime BBC news.

Mentioned tonight's storms. A batch of 'sporadic' thunderstorms for Central/Eastern England tommorrow, a bright start friday before a band of Thunderstorms moves in from the SW...then the chap highlighted the chance for another outbreak of storms on Sunday... that's what we like to hear!

More attempts at hazy sun, but still no blue sky in sight. Those clearances to the south just seem to be filling with more crud before they get here.

Its hot as soon as you go out, it would so easily breach 30 if the sun would come out for a couple of hours. Not too much to ask is it????

Thunder heard to the east and west of me in the last 40 minutes but no more than a few spots of rain fell. No lightning seen either.

The sun is out again now.

Nothing much except 33C temperatures here... was hopeful of some severe isolated storms, but looks as if the far North will get most.
