Automated Met Office forecasts showing quite a few hours of snow over higher ground tonight, particularly South Yorkshire.

Could be something to keep an eye on?  Not sure it will be cold enough for any sort of covering, but even at my elevation, some light sleet / snow is predicted to fall tonight...

It's been snowing at LBA for a good few hours now so it'll probably get wintry where you are soon.

Hi PiT,

I can confirm snow in Sheffield last night lasting quite a few hours! It started about midnight and it lasted at least after 2.30am when I awoke to check. I didn't see much laying but the snow was falling heavily with thick fluffy wet flakes. There was a icing sugar like coating beginning to build at 2pmish.

I was disappointed not to see anything in the morning upon waking. So if you went to bed on time and woke up normally then you would be non the wiser!

Cheers Farmans didn't see any on my walk home just before midnight just rain then. Must have changed later on.

Some sleet now on the edge of a shower but snows is back on the moors again. Probably even more now but can't see them at the moment.
