Very glad to see the back of Summer! I like storms and heat and although we have had a few decent storms, heat has been lacking with only a max of 27.6c reached in York.

This week looks like we could see some single figure night time temps and high pressure setting up for pleasant days and cool nights. The trees are already starting to show there autumnal colours and I for one am very excited about the run up to winter.

Last winter saw a measly 7cm as Winter Cold and his Pennine friends stole all the snow, this year its my turn :p. BRING IT ON!

Haha, maybe ill let you have some snow this year and share more :p

Yes its been a bit of a boring summer really hasnt it, not much heat or storms, with the only 2 good days being 4th July and then a week last saturday for thunder round here. Shame we didnt get more storms, thats easily my favourite part of summer.

As you say, on into autumn now, and lets see what winter will bring. Mixed messages coming out but having said that I think we had nearly a full house of global positive signs and setups (SAI, QBO etc) last winter and it didnt turn into a great one.!

One hopefull thing im thinking of is that there is a strong El Nino this winter and if memory serves me right then wasnt December 2010 in a strong El Nino.......????  Also the suns fairly quite so if it can stay that way then we might have a better chance of higher level blocking. Heres to a very cold and snowy winter my friend  :D  :cold:

Fair enough. Fingers crossed then for this one as winter 09/10 was a good one wasnt it. I will always be skeptical of signs and setups now though following the fail of last year. I dont know how successfull pattern matching and global signs are for our tiny island....

A dry start but a heavy shower around mid morning, and similar for the afternoon. Nice and sunny just after lunch but then a short shower spoiled it all.

A bit cooler and today would have been perfection.

Sunshine, genuine chill to the wind, no humidity at all, reasonable temperatures.

Well it was very wet this morning and then when the rain was just clearing we got some very intense downpours about 11am-12pm here.  A few showers this afternoon but nothing thundery which was a shame!

A few pics though as it was a good day for skyscapes :)
