Saw some in North Leeds near Bardsey, nothing a iPhone camera could capture but glad I saw them.

I'd love to see these Nacreous clouds. Feeling a bit jealous, albeit protected here in France from your storms. Can someone explain why there was a post about them being associated with ozone damage? I couldn't find any confirming information especially in relation to the clouds being formed as a result of chemical reactions. All I can find is optical related...

yeah shame I missed those clouds too, was stuck in work at sunset time and wasnt up at sunrise this morning :( Some amazing pics doing the rounds though!

As for tonight, hopefully see something. Was sleeting about 8pm when i was driving home up here, 3c. As temps drop overnight maybe turn to snow. Definitely an ice problem i think by morning!

I must say that the irish sea(Cheshire streamer) has produced some good beefy showers with anything from rain, sleet, hail and graupel the last couple of days and still going and also producing the odd sferic in Lancashire too, some good vis on anvils aswell

as for tonight, there could be some surprises early in the morning and i will be up at 5am so might see a dusting here, here's hoping:)

Looks like the higher parts of Sheffield got a covering overnight?

Nothing here but a tad nippy this morning all the same...

This would be a lovely chart for us if it came off. Unfortunately it's well into FI so chances of it actually happening are close to zero, but hey ho, still nice to look at !

Its really good to see the models coming up with some good synoptics now... better late than never i suppose, also some good snow events possible for our part of the world, have to laugh at some folk in the south chucking the towel in last week though, dont get me wrong i really hope they see some decent snowfall too... they deserve it ..

i could post some precip charts but we all know there a rough guide .. i prefer radar watching its miles better than a chart 120 hours out lol....

Hope all you guys and gals are ok .. and ready with the stellas and baps... with a decent lamp post near your house as well :)

Is the possible snow event that's appearing on some models for the southerners only! I'm confused, too many southerners in the mod thread only looking at charts from a imby perspective. Are us up north not looking at anything special?

I think the most recent model output has shifted things a bit further north, and if past experience is to go by once that starts as a trend it usually persists, but still a day or two to go before things start to firm up.

Paul Hudson spoke of rain moving up from the South on Friday, so that means they favor ECM over GFS as GFS has precip not getting further North than the midlands. All output looks messy at the moment, so hoping things will be resolved by morning.
