Then low is further north so it would appear the warmer air has reached south Yorkshire.

I dont know what to think really. Im high up as you know and its only light spitty drizzle. Temp 2c but no sign of a flake. The front looks rubbish atm too, only light and patchy stuff all over the place.

I wanted a repeat of boxing day 2014 lol but no chance with this light rubbish!

Hows everyone elses mood doing? :)

If I had your altitude I would be expecting at least a dusting of snow before the end of tomorrow if not something more substantial.

The colder air will be filtering south early tomorrow along with perhaps some more significant preciptation but until then I think it is just a case of putting up with the drizzle!

I am not really expecting anything here at all but I am looking forward to some crisp and very cold days and nights come the weekend.  :cold:

Been doing the rounds on the road cameras, it's been snowing above 200m in the Dales and Moors, but not settling so probably lying snow above 300-400m. From now on the snowlike will start to drop so if we can get some heavy precip those around 200m might get lucky, MetO precip charts show precip varying in intensity over the region untill leaving the eastCoast around 6pm tomorrow. Off to bed for now with one eye open, heading to the moors tomorrow :)

Yes I think its going to be a case of seeing what I wake up too lol. As you say, the colder air should dig in overnight into the morning so its a case of hoping theres some ppn left at that time.

I totally agree with the cold and crisp weekend bit, thats going to be brilliant feeling like proper winter. Looks like near ice days up here from Friday right into next week. Lovely! :D

I hope we all get to see some snow at least :cold:

Temperature static at 3.2c with still no real 'weather' to speak of so I am going to call it a night and see what tomorrow brings...

Nothing here should be icy in a bit as rainfall freezes.

The bad news it looks like yesterdays forecast for some light sleet and snow moving south this afternoon is now off the table.

So if you've had some snow well done. If you havent you may have to wait a while longer.

Kicking off in the Moors now :) image.thumb.jpg.f9cb21d00952e21091c5ed94

Yes that area of preciptation stretching from North Yorkshire up through Northeast England and out into the North Sea is likely to move South across our region as the day progresses as the low pushes away and the wind veers more NE.

Whether we will get much from it away from the hills is another matter.

Raining lightly here despite a dew point of -0.2C. Air temp is 1.4C so must warmer air aloft.

Snowing at low levels in the Northeast of England now as the cold air is digging in.  Lets hope we get in on some snowy action later on today!  :snowman-emoji:

Sporadic bursts of light snow. Could get interesting later on if the stream of showers pushes well inland.

LBA weather station history shows it alternating between snow and rain for the last few hours. Needs to pickup in intensity.
