Did anyone have a good storm ?  Just a few rumbles here overnight and a few

more just now. Less than half an inch of rain.  Thought it would be much livelier !

Yes Sheffield did well for once which is amazing lol!  The storms developed over the midlands and joined up nicely into a band and pushed north.

 

Saw some good bright flashes which were quite frequent at one point and some decent loud cracks of thunder. The rain was torrential and the road was flooded as it all ran down.

 

Easily the best storm in years, a bonus it came through at night too!

 

I got some decent footage on phone but as i dont have a youtube page ive no idea how to upload it lol

So glad I didn't have the planned all-nighter, set my alarm for 3:30am wasn't impressed so went back to sleep at half 4 and just woke up now.

 

A few flashes around me but never overhead, some heavy bursts of rain with a few rumbles of thunder, that was it :(. 

 

If I had stayed up all night for that bore fest I would have been one very miserable chappy today, thankfully made the right desicion lol :)

A good storm here - at one point we had lightning every 7 seconds.

 

Most of the thunder was kind of eerie and strange sounding - some of it sounded like an aluminum sheet being shaken, and sounded very high up -but we had one thunder clap that sounded like a shotgun and made me jump - and it was accompanied by a close CG strike (we had about 2 or three other CG strikes as well). Had 16mm in the end.

 

All in all, I am VERY pleased. Waited log enough. Still some flashes at 5am this morning - 2 hours after it started.

Looks like the rain today will reach Sheffield.

Goodness me.....

Shame I know, but we had to put on some background heating last night as we were feeling cold. A miserable 14c today, and the garden we were sitting out in only a few ago is completely soggy. Doing great work on the newly seeded grass patches though, which are greening up nicely!

A partial cloudy start with someearly morning sun, but then showers later. Full cloud by midday with more showers.

A dry and cloudy start to the day, but temperatures were up on the last few days. By Midday there were signs of breaking cloud and blue sky, which increased off and on as the afternoon progressed.

A lovely sunny morning with hardfly a cloud to be seen. More cloud by lunchtime again ,but more sunny periods than yesterday. Quite warm all day with just a gentle breeze from time to time.
