Looks like precipitation is about to clear Leeds on radar. We'll all have to wait for the system to drag the front before we get another go.

Hopefully in the meantime we can see the temperature drop.

It started to turn to sleet about 20 minutes ago under the slightly heavier echoes so we could well see it falling as snow again.

Considering we had all rain from 10 am up until now is a good sign temps are slowly dropping.

What happened to the weather warnings for west Yorkshire? I thought with the wintry mix of rain, sleet and accumulating hill snow continuing until tomorrow morning, there would at least be ongoing warnings for ice and snow but they have been lifted..how stupid!

Not really stupid, perhaps the conditions aren't necessarily favorable for any more snow tonight. Dew points look quite high.

Well the forecast for this evening, tonight and tomorrow morning is for more rain but with sleet and increasingly accumulating snow higher up so I say again..how stupid to lift all the warnings when there is on going hazardous travelling conditions for some areas!

Ah right Frosty, I see what you're saying. Perhaps confined for the very highest areas? Less problems with less people in those parts? I really don't know.

DP and temps are slowly dropping here in Hull. Temp is 4.1C and dew points are around 2C. We had snow falling with temperatures at 3.2C and dew points around 1.2C, so anything can happen tonight, especially those higher than Hull (isn't hard really).

Typically you wouldn't get a warning for snow if its over 300m

And its not like its snowing above say 200m, its raining at 260m.

Temp here in Hull is now 3.1C and the dew point is 1.7C. Just....a....little.....further.

By the way, I know we probably won't see snow tonight, just trying to be optimistic.

You had 4 inches of snow this morning and there has been disruptive snow well below 300m and more snow is forecast tonight for some areas but no warnings, not even for slush and icy patches. It's just not good enough in my opinion but today has been nice, it put the dross from the last 3 months to shame!:D

Yeah but there was a warning for it, the warning has gone now as the snow levels have retreated.

Unfortunately I'm edging towards it not turning to snow again, temps in the city are stuck at 3.5c and show no sign of budging.

Sadly stopped and now dry with steady thaw of what little has fallen.  One pic from Graves Park the others my phone won't email for unknown reasons. Ahh it's now caught up.

That there is more snow than we've had in 38 months here.

It snowed for an hour and a half heavily giving a dusting and was all gone without a trace less than an hour later.

A truly dire winter, the third on the trot.

Front starting to push south now, snowing here nice and steady. Could be up to a few cm i feel. Front still looks well organised for now.

Ended up snowing most of the morning and early afternoon in the end in Sheffield, wrong time but still nice to watch. Nothing in town, but returned to a few inches at home :)

Lets hope we can top up our snow over the next few hours :cold:

Is there even a chance of snow through the night tonight?

Thought it was all going to be rain from now

Well you can see above that there's snow around 250m and Bingley is reporting 1C but i'm not sure what height the station is at. Who knows.

UKMO forecast has sleet for us, not that i have any faith in it. Still a night of heavy snow forecast for Buxton and the usual higher up suspects

Bingley is at 260m so at higher elevations it may turnn wintry.

current radar shows much of the region  under sleet and snow, not much blue, its all green and pink. Ive often found even when its green its snow, as is the case now. Are most people not seeing sleet/snow?

I'm in Bingley at 71m asl. It's actually St Ives where the Bingley weather station is at that altitude. Most of Bingley is below 120mish.Eldwick is 150 m+ upto 300m+.

Just had to clear that up lol.
