Well over 200m here in west sheffield and it's sleety snow. Too far south to pull the colder air?

In Lofthouse Gate, Wakefield. There's a couple of cm's at the most at the moment.

Still,  a pleasant surprise especially as it was absolutely belting it down with rain around midnight.

Got a dusting here in north west Barnsley. Basically a non event for me I'm afraid. Light sleet/snow falling now.

Just been on the train through there and noticed that.

Amazing difference just North around Wakefield and Normanton though.  A good inch or two and a winter wonderland scene across the fields!

Woke up to not even quite a cm here lol.

Kids getting giddy over it though says it all for this pathetic season.

Bring on the warmth now. Don't want the cold if it can't even deliver a proper snow event anymore.

Well rant over and hoping for better luck next winter haha

I was predicting South yorks to do well and the eastern part to miss out...how wrong was I! You have snow in Dony and not in Sheffield!

your right cheesecake, it's just not been Sheffield's year. It's always been a bit North. Leeds / Bradford gets the crown this year.

Maybe it will pivot back.....but will it stay as snow?

New Weather warning issued, replaces the old one -

They are now expecting another 5-10cm over 200m.

Lovely snow event this morning and a great drive over to Harrogate on the all season tyres unfortunately turned to sleet/rain mix with the inevitable drip drip drip starting

About 6cm here in Keighley. What a treat for me on the last weekend of my visit. Look North says LBA is closed, and I bet it's great higher up. Still snowing too. Glad I don't have to go anywhere other than for a walk down the town now...

Surprisingly good event here, even at 60-80m asl here not far from central Leeds. Went to sleep at about 2am with heavy snow/sleet transitioning, wake up 6 hours later to a few CM's, which is amazing considering how much rain fell earlier last night, and our height, along with the suggestion it might only be over a 200m event!

Very icy out there on the paths and Ungritted roads, which made my commute a bit interesting!

It was interesting to note the impact of the UHA of Leeds, walking down the incline through Uni Of Leeds towards the city, and there was a lot less settling, and even at 10m lower, the height had also made a difference, showing just how marginal it was!

Is it still snowing? I see temps are slowly on the rise, outskirts of the city center at 50m asl is at 0.8c dp 0.1c
