So hard to predict tonight. Its going to be a case of see what we wake up to. Sounds like the best activity is overnight so the radar might improve later?

Just had a snow shower here that lasted 5 mins and left a slight dusting.

got back from Cumbria this afternoon and what a fantastic few days it was,here is a selection of pics,will upload vids when i have time

DAY1...Great gable ascent

Wasdale inn with the pillar in the background

kirkfell,a view from in between green fell and great gable half way up

1st photo is the same mountain as we head up great gable on the western side,2nd one is a view from near the top of Great gable looking down the valley towards haystacks range,3rd one,nearly there...puff! puff!!,4th one,we reach the top looking over kirkfell and the pillar in the distance,5th one,my mate taking a breather and the 6th one is overlooking the scafell range,from left to right,gable end,ill crag and scafell pike

Great gable took us just under 3 hrs with a few stops on the way up

a couple of photos of our descent down the eastern side of Great gable,1st one looking at Helvellyn mountain way in the distance,2nd one is napes needle just south of Great gable summit and 3rd one is Great gable

DAY 2...Scafell pike ascent

1st,approaching hallow stones at the foot of Scafell on the right and Scafell pike foot on the left with the scree in the center of which we will be going up,2nd,looking down at Wast water valley,3rd,is my mate going up the scree of which it was very dangerous because of thick ice on the rocks

at the top of the scree,and me with a relieved face

now the final push to the top,1st,overlooking Scafell behind us,2nd,bowfell in the distance

and.....

here we are at the top of englands highest mountain,sorry it clouded over but it did clear up as we began our descent(sods law

a few photo's of our descent,1st,looking at ill crag,2nd,styhead tarn lake,3rd looking at Great gable,4th and 5th looking down at Wast water,6th,Wasdale head valley,7th and 8th,a different view at Scafell

Scafell pike took just over four and a half hours with loads of stops on the way ,it's been a great couple of days up here and will call again

here is a few snaps on the way out today

Just had a snow shower whats left a dusting good to see.

Finally snowing here after dodging showers all evening. Temp is 1.2C with a dewpoint of -0.6C so its a bit wet but already a dusting so far.

Heavy snow here currently, around 1cm so far. Been for a drive around my area and above 100m its really treacherous on the roads, winter tyres were even struggling. Temp 0.6c

A whopping 1.5cm. Don't think I've ever been this excited about such little snow but times are hard!

Woke up to a nice amount here this morning which was a surprise Showers didnt miss us for once!  Went out for a walk this morning and took a few pics

Nothing here as expected.

Wednesday into Thursday looks more interesting and I would say 50/50 that the rain will turn to Snow during the evening.  Local forecast says Snow through out but that's rubbish.

A light dusting of snow early morning as well as a keen frost, with a cold North Easterly breeze. The sun came out later in the morning, but the afternoon was cloudy.

Looks like a very cold night coming up. Down to -6 it says. Still forecasting 5c tomorrow though which  I dont get. Weve only acheived that so far last few days as temps have been 0 to -1 at night so starting from -6 tomorrow id expect an ice day??? Oh well.

Im sitting quiet about weds night, id love a repeat of boxing day 2014 which seems to have been similar to whats forecast for weds/thur. We ended up with deep snow, even after the ground was soaked with heavy rain so we'll see. Fingers crossed

I'd be surprised at -6C more likely  -1c to -2c which gfs shows and the local forecast says the same. 4c to 6c seems pretty likely tomorrow as well.

Yes mate that's me, really was stunning in this part of the world this morning with sunshine and convective showers. They tended to fizzle out somewhat as they crossed the NYM's but I ended up finishing with 4cm that's half melted now but I can't winge as snow has been rare last few winters. Here's my collection from today.
