I do wonder what the point of it is when it's that inaccurate.

sometimes it shows precip over our heads but in reality from your window nothings falling... it called araphoric precipitation ( i think thats the correct terminolgy anyway) its where rain/snow is falling out of the clouds but not reaching the surface due to evaporative coolin...

So basically, rain /snow is evaporating as it falls.

Hope this helps with future radar watching :)

If that was the case you'd expect some cloud cover. Supposedly rain here earlier today but the skies been as clear as bright summers day.

Another heavier patch now over Sheffield, think we'll top out between 1-2 inches in the end, its just over an inch now.

I can see a tiny bit of the A57 from my back window and its been pretty covered for a few hours now. A few cars crawling along. Ive been watching all night but i havent seen a single gritter go by!

Late so if working for Sheffield Amey probably won't pay overtime. Derbyshire council not sure what they what there gritting policy is. I know last winter it was let the sun melt it and I was quiet surprised they gritted in November.

So the one day it snows is the day I go to London! A covering at my house according to some pictures. Good see others getting a covering too :). Not sure much will be left Tuesday sadly  (my end). Hopefully a few more snow events before winter is out!

Radar shows PPN just about cleared from Leeds but snow fall has gone from light to moderate again

Making up for when it showed snow and it was dry.

Some nice snow this evening.

Probably a few centimetres lying which is not the deepest snowfall I have ever seen by a mile but the snow on the trees has turned this part of South Yorkshire into a Winter Wonderland!

More important however is the fact that we have just achieved an air frost for the first time during this cold spell.

So, will we see anything further on Monday? Latest 00z runs seem to suggest some snow, especially the further west you are again...

Though lots of change still to come!

It keeps switching a lot. It will be similar to last nights affair i.e. watch the Radar and see what's really happening :)

Looks absolutely amazing in the mist this morning. At least 5cm laying and trees still look as they did when it stopped. My rabbits have never seen snow, they're in for a shock when I uncover the hutch!

Right thats it.  I am pledging allegiance to the GFS.  God Bless America!

GFS keeps us cold right through until the end of the week this morning with more snow opportunities for our region and even the potential for a Scandi High whereas UKMO brings us zonal conditions although further down the line it could become more favourable for cold.

Anyway, I will be out enjoying the snow with my daughter this morning so no time for worrying about breakdowns today.

Oh yes and we have an air frost!

Temperature is holding at -0.7c.

Good Morning Everyone, well what an event last night and it certainly didn't disappoint for parts of our region mine included!

I kept saying days ago an right up to the event that it would shift east and it kept moving further east than it planned and BOOM! right over us!

:yahoo::cold:
