It was a surprise to have a bit of snow this evening , but any moderate r precipitation has now finished in this area, just a few lighter flurries to come. still looks good around Barnsley and Rotherham  for an hour or so

You have my sympathies. I hate it when that happens. Come live in Yorkshire, there's plenty of snow to go around lol.

I would love to, though I have a sporadic dusting, it has just started up again.

Still coming down here.

I doubt heavier stuff will get any further east, slip away south has it dies out by looks of it.

Over 5cm's here, unknown exactly how much as not going out in it :nonono:

Looking at the radar looks like Leeds etc will start to miss out on it within next hour or so, remainder to the north will only hit the west side of the region in any significant quantities.

Leeds definately the winnter tonight :)

Problem with this 'proper' snow is its all tiny flakes. We only really get deep snow when its slightly milder and its the big flakes. I would say there still isnt quite a cm even up here yet for me. Still its been a lovely evening to just sit and watch the snow flutter down. Not a breath of wind!

Had some very large flakes here in Rotherham, I think west side of Sheffield seem to have missed out with all heavier stuff.

This is very unusual because 99 times out of 100 its other way round.

I agree. My parents live higher up in Dronfield Woodhouse (effectively SW Sheffield) and looking at the radar they haven't seen as much as the eastern side of the city. As you say it's often the other way around - I was originally a little jealous of their elevated location!

Still got big flakes, moderate intensity. Gotta be 4cm absolute minimum and every branch of every tree is totally smothered. It looks ace!

I love those tiny flakes, especially when they settle on something and you can look at them. I particularly love the little stars, I had some of those yesterday morning...

I wonder how my work friends have done in Grenoside. It's 200m up and the north of Sheffield. Should've got a decent covering up there I think?

same as Crosspool where I am I expect, its pretty close to here really. Im 250m and its only a cm as I say so far :)

Not complaining though, not at all. Decent covering here now yaaaay :)
