UKMO Precip charts showing a large amount of heavier stuff to the west at 22:00 onwards, if its as far east as the current stuff, we will be bang underneath it...

Theres a long way to go yet, people need to chill, excuse the pun.

Brightest echoes around Leeds now, is the radar lying or is there moderate snow?

Higher ground yes, lower no, it evaporates.  I'm 128 meters ASL and harly a thing.

i think if the heavier material over Yorkshire would just shift more south(its still shifting just to our east ), we should get a direct hit. I hope the precip that you refer to over the lakes intensifies because that looks very interesting for us.

WE have a very  light covering on cars here

This is ludicrous... I'm under the heaviest echos in the middle of the band and not a single flake so far lol! Glad I went up to Sutton Bank for my fix earlier today cos this isn't looking good here!

Tell you what though, the BBC weather from just now was totally incorrect. Just said clearing now and it looked much further west. Its not at all representative of whats actually happening. We could have hours of snow yet coming down from the NW!

Some people out in Leeds, Sheffield and the other towns tonight might get caught out going by that!!

Your expat, honorary Yorkshire woman is very happy for you :snowman-emoji: enjoy every second of it. I got a tiny bit of snow mixed with hail here in Limousin this morning, but I do have snowdrops out!

Same here bazookabob I'm in Allerton near to garforth under the heavy stuff on radar but nothing like normal, just too low here where I live

Edit, trust me to decide to post after not looking out of the window for 10 mins, might try this tactic more often

Snowed a fair bit here (Skipton/Keighley) earlier but more of an icy rain/sleepy mix at the moment. A reasonable amount of lying snow but might be all gone in morning if it stays like this (according to BBC it should be heavy snow now...)

Not much happening here, we are too far west.. just very very light snow. Rotherham and Barnsley looks the area to be rather than Chesterfield with this first batch. Our snow we hope to get is now heading south east .out of cumbria.  Unfortunately it is liable to turn south and we could be too far east for that one.

still very light snow here  temp 1.5  dew point - 2.0
