Moderate snow been falling in Oakworth for the last hour now, a good couple of centimetres so far. In prime location in western Pennines.

Same but then again not far from you; it's definitely over 2cm's now prob 3cm's.

Think might get over 10cm's from this if it doesn't die out as should be snowing for next 6 hours, and going to get heavier.

Radar seems to be off tbh.  Radar suggest it should be snowing heavily here but we are barely getting a flake.

Same snow drought situation as with the last few winters here.

Too far east to benefit from the snow tonight and was just too far west to catch the showers on Thursday.

Yet again there's another mid-Yorkshire snow drought.

Here in Chesterfield amazingly i think we are too far west to get the best of this fragmented band of precipitation which is still on a sse track , Could do with it heading south before it dies out

More or less died out here in Huddersfield now. 30min snowfall that's been it. Looks like it's fragmenting on the radar now.

Well my one year old is very excited with seeing falling snow under the outdoor light, squealing and banging on the window at it, bless her.

Still very fine and light atm :)

Settling on side roads now, helped that ground was pretty much dry before it started. Not sure it'll amount to much though.

Very, very light snow falling. Has settled, but just a dusting. Doesn't look as though it's going to keep going for long. Nice to see something falling though.

Well, that front looks like it will bush in to the north sea, unbelievable bearing in mind that it was supposed to stall over the Pennines at best.

Yes we are stuck in no mans land really, we were laughing in 2009/10/11/12. Our time will come buddy, in the meantime I'm eyeing up houses to buy in the Wolds/NYMs.

People shouldn't be panicking. This first band is an area of precipitation not forecast. The main band isn't due till after 10. The area in Scotland is due to pep up and head south, south east

I thought this band IS that main band, but came through much earlier than anticipated.

Latest radar show that any heavier precipitation will be east of Chesterfield. Quite a shift in position from this mornings predictions. Some areas there may have an unexpected  covering  . For awhile we were in the firing line but that long run of precipitation has shifted again eastwards

although we now have steady very light snow, settled
