Snowing in Hull. Nice surprised, I expected we would miss out so near to the coast. Not settling but hoping later when it cools down we may get lucky

Sweet! Saw your vid. Looks ace... 8mm of wet slush fallen so far today! What a waste!!

Doesn't even look like any coastal showers after the band which was initially forecast. (thats what i was pinning my hopes on!!)

Unexpectedly very windy, my mind was on snow watch not wind watch. No snow here in Grimsby, but apparently snowing down the road and home in Immingham, can't see anything sticking, too wet and not cold enough for starters.

Sleet turned to snow this last hour, coming down quite hard and just beginning

to settle on the grass.  1C temp.  Such strong winds.

Must say that was one horrid dog walk, lol.

Just a single degree cooler it eould have been snowfest here in scarborough!! Been sleet and wet snow all day.

Racked up 13.4mm so far and still coming down.

Some local accumulations causing bother on the roads.

As i said earlier though. The winds been the main issue with numerous trees down.

This one from hackness.

Edit - eyms busses just tweeted victoria road closed due to structural damage to a building!

It has been snowing for a couple of hours here now and is actually settling! Its doing it on all surfaces but its too wet from the rain beforehand really. Grass is now covered though.

Current temp is 0.9C with a dewpoint of -0.1C so its just cold enough.

After my snow tour today (150miles!) Ive come home to find out Ive missed a covering of snow by about 2 miles, there was snowcover all the way from Dalby Forest through Pickering and Malton and the snow decided to give my village a miss. As we are slightly further west the more intense precip that brought a covering to many down below just clipped us to the east. Mind you theres a few flakes left on the grass :D

Slight dusting on the moors visible. Finally had the first snow of the winter a few flakes at lunch time.  Wind main feature here and even that's not too bad.  That should be it for the snow for now.

Oh one of those silly days it got above 3c for it too snow fair enough dew point was -3.6C yet this morning 1C dewpoint of -0.2C and it was rain.

Well shame about today, utter let down in Sheffield. Saw about 10 flakes in the wind in town around 12pm and that was it. Wasnt even anything up here this morning.

Nice to feel that cold arctic wind though, winter weve missed you lol!!

Heres to hoping something crops up in the next few days and of course as per model thread, chaos rules for next week! :)

Temps holding up well no doubt due to the breeze hanging out 1.7C makes this server cold warning a bit of a nonsense. Would have been off the scale in the cold winters of late seventies and early eighties. Shudder to think what they would have issued for 63.

Yes temperature holding at 1.8c here although I would imagine the wind chill is sub zero.

They would have issued a national state of emergency for a 63 rerun I reckon!

That it for snow any chance of Snow for us In Sheffield now gutted only seen a few flakes since november.

Looks like me might be in with a shout of some snow on Saturday night looking at the latest Euro4.

That is not taking account of any potential breakdown snow either.

We have the cold now so lets hope the snow follows!
