METO website now showing snow showers from 2am-4am and netweather have just tweeted an animation of a band of showers pushing south overnight so some of us may wake up to a sprinkling again tomorrow :)

Going to be interesting tomorrows drive up to the peak district. Since it seems again we have a no gritting policy in Sheffield one will have to be careful.

MetO forecast suggests largely dry for our region with just a few coastal showers unless I'm missing something?

Slushy scenes in Scarborough, good dusting away from the town centre and areas with a little height have seen a few cm's. I imagine we'll see just a little more this evening and overnight. Possibly a covering come tomorrow morning.

The BBC national forecast also showed a band of PPN moving south over night.

Had a heavy snow shower last night around 17:00. It settled, and then froze later in the evening. By 20:30 local roads were icy, with a temp of -1C. Doesn't look to have been anymore overnight

Like a rink out there after yesterdays snowfall. Temp -1.8C. All surfaces covered in thick ice from yesterdays snowfall. No warning from MetO though.

It's gonna be a fun trip to work today!

Ah well a dry night but cold. Cloud lifting temperatures above freezing but a good air frost.

Few pics from yesterday, had to sneak in Dalby Forest at the Scarborough end as they'd closed to forest to walkers and cyclists due so many trees down. First pic is as heavy as the snow got at my house with a very temporary covering. Rest are from North York moors.

Just been up top at Ladybower. Foggy with drizzle surprised by the lack of snow expected more judging by the depths reported by TM.

Roads gritted derbyshire side which surprised me because last year they were hardly doing it. Sheffield side not done however not really icy unless you get off onto the car parks.

Not as windy as predicted so a rather uninspiring day with light rain mostly odd moderate burst during the afternoon.

A nice ground frost this morning after a low of 1.5c but currently 5c and lashing it down, a day for staying at home with the fire on I reckon. The model output is currently not for the feint hearted if you like snow  :ninja:
