No snow on the Yorkshire Coast this morning, but a bad northerly gale. Checked on the Metoffice reports and 60mph gusts for Bridlington around 06.00. 4 miles north up the coast it is now brightening up but still really blowing. I am trying to rebuild our log shed, that project is on hold this morning, far too windy to put the roof on. I agree with previous post its the worst gale for a few years.

A neighbours TV ariel is blown down and power went on and off a few times just before 06:00.

Well it certainly came down hard. But then turned to rain and melted!

Edit, that video may not work, no idea why if that's the case!

Sun shining and no snow, really cold though so can't complain :)

Shower just passing now and the sun is just peeping through. Has stuck a bit on cars and long grass but will no doubt melt again now. Still nice to see so early, although that may mean nothing in the long term...

Moderate snow with all surfaces starting to get covered here, looks like the moors is getting plastered, heading up there soon.

Heavy wet snow here again now: I guess this the pattern set for the day. Nasty cold too but thankfully not as windy as last night.

What a fun night it was last night. First settling snow of the season and its only November! BONUS :D

A few pics I took below at about 4am for us all to enjoy :cold:

Its still on the ground now, although a bit more patchy but the main problem is very bad ice. Cars have been struggling for about 10 minutes to get up past my house, as its an up hill, right hand bend. Its a bit trechorous on foot too.

Its now just gone midday and temp up here is still -0.5 so might just scrape an ice day! Temps dropping like a stone tonight though I imagine :D

Nothing here so far, in fact this far east the warm sector was so pronounced that it hit 6.8C at 4:45am. If anything, the winds were the most notable thing, gusting to 40mph and 25mph sustained.

Just had a shower but it was rain. Temp is 3.7C.

A proper wintry mix here in Scarborough alternating from sleet, hail and wet snow. I imagine the transition will complete and we'll see a dusting early evening.

Quite nice for mid November, though I imagine not so nice to be out in! A day for footie, packing glitter and netweather I think!

Ooo proper snow coming down now after sleety squalls earlier.

Not settling though.

Had a decent covering at high levels in Scarborough. A couple of cars in front of me incapable of making it up Stepney Hill on the A170 out of town, though that was more due to their ability to drive in slightly tricky conditions than the depth of the snow. Probably an inch or so on the road at the top. Mostly just slush the other side of the hill in the vale...

Well, we have our first dusting here on the Esplanade in Scarborough... consisting of hail. Still counts, right?
