Ha, ours has been on many evenings in May. The temeratures have really been dropping away quickly and its been very chilly.

Wet and wild out there tonight! Sounds like mid October on the window lol.

It does indeed summer never comes just like winter never comes is the common theme on this small island.

Not alot happened here last night nothing of note wind wise and rainfall overall just getting into double figures so rain the main feature.

We had a small amount oif rain overnight, given that we were supposed to be drenched in it, and has been dry all day. This morning we had 20mph gusts with the average at 11mph. Then in the afternoon, the sun came out, but just briefly, and it just went dull and dark all of a sudden. Again we have had 22mph gusts, and I see that there has been some superficial wind damage to bushes and small trees.

Yes, just like October, but with a temeprature of 18C today.

A more lively day to day. Gusting up to 50mph and averaging 29mph around 14:15 so a windy day for June but warm in the sun which shows the cool effect of spring is having. Thank gawd the 28C for Fridays has gone as adjusting to that from 14C would take a bit.

Wind has gone now, with clear sky we are already down to 5C.
This is why we gave up with bedding plants and anything tender like runner beans.
June frosts seem to be commonplace nowadays, hardly worth bothering when they are only worth looking at for about 6 weeks.

Horrible hot day even worse tomorrow in Sheffield. Sheffield too far south probably for any storms according to the GFS but further north looks good.

don't know what the current temps are, but we need a storm. it's muggy as hell here.

it didn't help the fact that we had a very short, sharp rain storm about 2 hours ago and that's made it worse!!!

Don't take any notice of car temperatures totally inaccurate.

Anyway hottest July day ever in Sheffield 33c we've got 32.4C but we're higher up than Western park. Too show how poor car thermometers are my car was showing 35.5C when the actual temp was 31.5c and that's fairly good for car thermometers.

The daftest one was my old clio which showed 30c when the day time max was only 20c

Flash after flash of lightning. Radar shows the main action over Manchester though.

Managed to take this in a rush, looking out west towards Penistone/Holmfirth. No Thunder unfortunately, seems SY/WY is just on the wrong side of things.

It certainly was! got a small car windscreen chip from it! I stood in the middle of an open field watching the storm last night, can imagine how scared I got when I heard large hail falling with the car a good 5 mins walk away :D
