Low of 0.5c here. Clear, sunny start. Bands of wintry showers forecast from midday onwards though

Forgot to check what the overnight low was but woke to the sound of bits of refrozen snow tumbling off the roof as the sun hit it. I'd even to go into the garage and find the scraper I'd removed from the car a couple of weeks ago to chip the frozen snow off the car windscreen. Lovely drive to work  through the still snowy landscape under blue skies and sunshine. The hills outside the village looked stunning. Pity it'll all be gone by the end of the day.

Aye, one of the purest blue skies I've seen. Fingers crossed for some excitement later, with me being this far east I doubt it but you and some of the more central/western peeps might get lucky later :D

Snowing in Paisley - at the end of April! Didn't see that coming! Big flakes although not landing and wouldn't expect it too.

Sleet here now believe it or not. What a  unbelieveable change it's been. Felt like a sauna outside last week at times!

Easing off now. Little has laid on the grass and cars which obviously won't last long. That was a fun 20 minutes

Wonder if the precip will hold to tonight when it might have a chance of lying plus more snow? Snowing here again!

P.S. Why is this snow as the precip seems to be swinging in from the SW?

a wee surprise to see wet flakes of snow in Glasgow at this time of year

wee poem

Cold blast returns

Winter coats pushed to back
Summer shorts rained from dust
Lingering thoughts of walks
In sunset warm evenings
Smiling at the spring blacksmith
Forging the colours and life vivid

Then a drop of rain
            A gust of northern wind

The clouds chased to London
Dragging polar air down
The rain turns colder
A huddled picnic
Left to the birds

Winter having one last laugh
A reminder there is no control
The sun takes a week off
The cold and grey spreads
Meanders across the weekend
Plans scuppered for indoor dates

Another snow shower coming through. It's been a very good spring so far with plenty of sunshine but also a few wintry farewells.

That's what I thought here too but the grass and cars are covered after some monster snowflakes. post-26-0-67096500-1430149932_thumb.jpg

Heavy snow shower, just passed over, and now there is watery sunshine. It's going to be a freezing night, tonight, I think.

This morning ( Mon. 27 April ) the car windscreen was a solid sheet of frozen sleet/hailstones not capable of being scraped off. I had to use a bank card to prize the sheet of ice off the edges of the wipers, glass edges  etc. - nearly missed my train!

Madness here.

Was cutting the grass earlier in a t-shirt.

Now coming on 1/2 a cm of snaw with almost palm sized flakes.

It's all Sturgeon's fault. You've been warned.

EDIT

And guess who had his full on summer tyres fitted last week. Aye.
