Funny to read comments of 'careless' and 'sloppy' when the aggressive style of play was called for on a number of occasions in the past when such positive match positions were wasted due to slow scori

in all the doom and gloom for the aussies, there is one glimmer of hope....             ...in the form of a promising young batsman who top scored for them.....goes by the name of Extras .....l

Lead over 300 who would have thought it. West Indies killed by Mo and poor decisions.

The day showed the value of a steady innings Malan slow 61 wore the bowlers down and also made sure one end was shored up. This allowed Stokes to play until he got it wrong. Then Woakes with Ali again one end was safe Mo could play his shots.

A good backing wicket however Windies lack confidence which will probably be their downfall. They need someone to stay in and slowly build a score while the person at the other end can play a few shots.

I had the rare opportunity to watch some live test play while at my parents house this afternoon and thankfully it coincided with Moeen's brilliant innings! I actually wish Root had been even more aggressive than his declaration by giving Moeen the new ball instead of Broad rather than just the solitary final over.

A lot of hard work for England's bowlers this afternoon. Not going to be easy to win this.

West Indies are cruising to victory at the moment....Root's captaincy has been poor to be fair, very unadventurous, and Broad and Anderson aside the bowling has been woeful.....England need a bit of magic or luck as it's all looking a bit flat

The selection of Woakes has been a mistake. They brought him back to soon, his bowling has been poor, a shadow of what he was before his injury. Roland-Jones should have retained his place and maybe bring back Woakes for the last Test after more practice to get his bowling speed back up.

Forgetting the 61 runs he scored to give us a chance. West Indies played so badly first test the selection wasn't flawed nobody could have seen the sudden change in the team performance.

At the moment the match heading towards a West Indies victory.

Broad hasn't shown up this test bowling wise either. Apart from Anderson bowling from England has been average.

I have only seen since 2pm but wicket looks slower with little sign of much lateral movement for the seamers in spite of cloud cover.

Moheen getting a bit of turn but fair play though these WI 2 are looking comfortable and the target is looking more and more attainable.

I could argue, why change a winning formula, then?

What justification was there of dropping Roland-Jones, who has delivered, whilst maintaining Westley, who hasn't?

What Woakes did with the bat has been lost with his bowling and it is his bowling that his main string.

No man has ever made 2 centuries in 2 test inning's at Headingley. Braithwaite might be about to change that.......................

To answer that how do you get him fit without bowling him. So poor was West Indian in the first test getting him fit shouldn't be costly. You can't blame one player. How about the dropped catches the silly shots by Stokes and Bairstow a declaration on a good batting pitch the bowlers not turning up.

The curse of a second hundred strikes gain. Braithwaite out for 95. Still leaning towards a Windies victory though.

Why haven't Windies sent out Blackman ???

A wasted review as England get desperate. Broad loses his line giving 4 runs away.

Sorry Blackwood but they don't need him by the looks of things. Windies cruising to victory while Root flogs Anderson and Broad to death.
