We should win this but the declaration came an hour later than necessary.

I don't know it depends if it's a slow pitch tommorrw in which case if we'd declared later it would have been a draw.

As all eyes turn to Boris, mine are veering towards Ahmedabad 😊

I think we are helped by the day-night pink ball format. It resets the scales or we might have been in for another spin pitch drubbing.

A poor display this morning, although I think the value of neutral umpires has been shown. Far too many batsmen given out to balls clipping the stumps. Let's see if the same happens when India bat

Well... you can argue with a few of the umpiring decisions indeed. But that was a pretty terrible performance from England however you slice it. Yes it's always going to be very hard playing in India, especially with a totally home crowd -- normally there'd have been at least a small Barmy Army contingent. Crawley apart, though, the batsmen were just not up to the task. Slightly better with the ball, and thank heavens we got Kohli out late on. Anderson bowling 9-6-11-0 was very impressive, if wicketless, but I fear picking only the one spinner is going to be horribly exposed by the end of the match.

Still, at least we won the first Test. 😛

    Totally agree.

The stumping decision was the genuinely iffy one, not because he was necessarily out but because the third umpire should have looked at all angles. I did think Rohit looked out but then remembered that because of flex in the toe of a shoe it’s possible it was grounded AND still moved down some more. But that’s not really the point: it wasn’t properly looked at.

That aside we were really poor yesterday. Stokes constantly gurning at umpiring decisions and onfield attitudes of indignation and injustice just display a side that has gone into the wrong mental headspace. If we don’t snap out of it we’re going to lose the series 3-1.

India should be in trouble with the ICC for this pitch, but of course, they won't be.

Another shambolic performance from England...nothing ever changes, utterly inept and spinless batting....India bascially cheating by producing disgraceful pitches, but being 'lord and masters' of cricket now, nothing will be done and it's games like this that will kill off test cricket quicker than anything else
