Why do England pick in form young batsmen then put them in the wrong place in the batting order?

Tom Banton has torn bowlers apart opening the innings in T20 and 50 over cricket yet he’s debuting at number 6!

Funny to read comments of 'careless' and 'sloppy' when the aggressive style of play was called for on a number of occasions in the past when such positive match positions were wasted due to slow scori

in all the doom and gloom for the aussies, there is one glimmer of hope....             ...in the form of a promising young batsman who top scored for them.....goes by the name of Extras .....l

Watching a bit of NZ-India in Christchurch. Greenest wicket I’ve ever seen. It’s the same colour as the outfield!

Is it just me, or have the Umpires been dreadful in this game?

Nearly every contested decision has been wrong.

Looking forward to seeing Rahkeem Cornwall bowl (and bat). 6'6" and 22-stone. :shok:

    Reminds me of Dwayne Leverock:

    He's a brute all right.

If only the West Indies had one decent test batsman.

Amazing from Broad. 500 wickets and his first 10 wicket haul since 2013 apparently.

What is going on in Southampton? The weather hasn't helped but it looks a complete shambles.

No urgency by umpires nor groundsmen. Called it a day at 3.50pm yesterday and the sun was out. The outfield was unfit apparently and yet the groundsmen showed no urgency nor effort to try and keep on top of the situation and what people have been saying made the decision even when no one actually inspecting the outfield. Then you got the bad light situation.

You don't often get to say this regarding cricket, but they should have stayed in Manchester!

Anderson stuck on 599 Test wickets as the last day of the Test summer dawns very wet and windy! The forecast for Southampton does give hope for a window of play this afternoon, so let's all hope he can get that one wicket. Given the number of catches dropped off him this innings, he should have about 603 already!

India shot out for 36-9 with one batsman injured. 😱  Their lowest ever Test total, no one got into double digits, not even extras. Joint 6th lowest ever Test total.

They were on top as well against the Aussies at the Adelaide Oval with a first innings lead!

Live test cricket on Channel 4! India v England. The perfect tonic!

Root in sublime form. Sibley being the perfect opener which we lacked for years!

Yep, what we need is a mystery spinner and we will become a world class side, we are lacking that something special when bowling, sure Anderson and Broad are brilliant but they are ageing.

Joe Root is in some form at the moment

Another double century  and in his 100th Test match, I think he has scored 600 Test runs already this year and he was run out twice!
