the main problem with this summer in my location .. Is the lack of ANY prolonged settled spell. I think  4 days as been  maxuim length  and that's occurred a couple of times..

I wont complain about todays forecast on Monday evening.. got it wrong once again.. Suppose to be decent tomorrow.. Can I trust that?? who knows.. :fool:

We travelled to Rhosneigr (Anglesey) yesterday (18th) for a three day camping break.  The afternoon was glorious but not particularly warm at 19C.  However the sea temp. was 16.5C (calibrated thermo and measured as stipulated by FINA) which was urprising as whenever I swam in the sea at Trac Mon 15-20 years ago (just down the coast) I always recorded 14C.

Today was a disaster - we had to strike camp and return home thus losing out on our prepaid pitch fees.  Torrential rain and a gale that almost lifted my tent off the ground with my 16-stone frame inside.  One of the nastiest August days I can remember - the others being during August 1962, '63 and '87.

ah Anglesey in Summer, I remember it well, 5 years, gales in summer, well not quite as frequent as the winter months but a fair number.

Four days on the trot of relatively decent weather from Saturday to Tuesday, which is unusual round these parts. Looking at the current forecasts I could weep as it's rain and cloud for the foreseeable future. I'm off to join the Autumn 2015 thread.

It's quite warm, muggy and sticky out there today and I quite like it actually. It's better than it feeling freezing cold in August, if I'm honest. There was a mild night last night, too.

Yes, my overnight min was 16.1C

Looks like Summer is over for Derry in a few days. Forecast's claim that the temperatures will be 15-16C which is the September average from Monday on, rainy and breezy.

August was on course to be the best month of the summer but it's really gone to pot again, the consistent dark/overcast days and I mean really low levels of light is shocking this year, days like today and yesterday in previous summer's would brighten up with a fohn effect but alas 0 minutes of sun it is.

It's been an absolutely awful summer here, the humidity like today has been stifling and there is no end in sight, hoping for a cool and sunny summer next year but i fear the worst.

It really isn't that humid and our temperatures and dew points etc are virtually the same as you currently.

It's a nice day. What's the problem? The humidity is like a warm blanket. More please.

It's really humid today, but at the same time feels almost wintry with the constant greyness and wind. Turning into a really poor summer, never more than one warm sunny day in a row, only 3 days over 25C and countless days of drizzle but no thunder or even heavy rain. June which at least managed a respectable sunshine total seems really good now, to think it was being called poor at the time.

So, overall, not really all that bad? I can still recall the abomination that was 1965: rain, rain and more rain. :D

Pretty average with the warmer than average start to July and cooler end being the only noteworthy deviations. That's certainly how it has felt here aswell.

With Summer almost drawing to a close i think its fairly certain that i can sum this summer up as a very average Summer in my neck of the woods. Average on all 3 aspects with some very warm spells mized in with some cooler wetter ones. No prolonged warmth like 2013 or prolonged wetness like 2012. So ive been quite happy with this summer, despite it somewhat lacking in very warm temperatures. Looks a nice weekend though in the east.

Tell me about it, 84% humidity at 21C currently. Sleeping was tough last night and tonight will be just as bad.
