A few clear spells last night gave way to cloudy conditions after midnight, moderate rain/sleet commenced around 02:00 GMT continuing through the early hours until becoming light and intermittent after dawn. At observation, overcast, intermittent light rain.

Widespread frost overnight under clear spells. Turning cloudy around dawn. Sunny spells developing through the morning, more cloud by afternoon with only bright intervals. The early evening saw more broken cloud once more allowing late sunny spells.

A dry, calm and clear start to the night but high and medium level cloud increased steadily from late evening and eventually brought moderate-heavy sleet, then snow, during the early hours. The snow died out by 0645, by which time there was just under 4cm, and was replaced by light drizzle.

Currently it's overcast with continuous light drizzle, and fog  above 300m.

 

At 0900.

Temp: 2.4c

24 hr max: 7.2c

24 hr min: -0.3c

Grass min: -5.5c

Rainfall in 24 hrs ending 0900: 11.5 mm

Mean wind speed: 18 mph SW/W

Sky obscured by fog

Early light snow soon fizzled out giving a dry pleasant day but breezy later.

A cloudy morning with occasional light-moderate drizzle. The afternoon was mainly dry with cloud breaking and dispersing to allow sunny periods. The wind veered NW during the morning and increased to gale force during the afternoon, moderating a little towards evening.
