April, our most fickle two faced month... always the most difficult month to predict weatherwise, it has a tended to produce wild mood swings, going from summer to winter in the space of a few days and never making its mind up. On occasion though it can make its mind up and stay firmly in one camp, April 2012 constantly wet for instance, 2011 and 2007 constantly dry and unusually warm.

 

I'm none the wiser with this April, many conflicting signals even to start the month, signs of northern blocking which could mean a rather chilly month to start.

 

I'll go 8.8 degrees, a little above average but perhaps a cold start.
