Worth taking part if you've got a weather station which records data!

A solar eclipse briefly dims the radiation coming from the Sun, leading to cooling of the atmosphere with interesting effects on the weather. To study these effects, the Department of Meteorology at the University of Reading invites you to take part in NEWEx - National Eclipse Weather Experiment, a citizen science project to collect weather data during the solar eclipse for detailed analysis.

During the eclipse, small weather changes are expected, such as a temperature drop and changes to clouds and wind. We would be pleased to have volunteers all across the UK make observations for us, so that we can produce maps to study these changes. To record your observations please fill in the NEWEx form at the following link http://goo.gl/forms/FUfrfp3UBK . (This link will open in a new window.) The form will be live for practice entries from Wednesday 18 March, and 'live ' between 8.00 a.m. and 9.00 p.m. on Friday 20 March.

Please note: for your data to be considered for inclusion in Stargazing Live, we will need the values to be submitted by 12 noon on Friday 20 March. The webform will, however, remain open for other submissions until 9 p.m. that evening.
