Another hours worth of clear blue for London areas from about 1530 looking at satelite images,cloud pulling away again.

35.3c here and rising. The wind is warm too, but if it wasn't for the breeze, I would be 6ft under. It will be snowing in 5 months time and we will all be complaining about how cold it is as the new ice age takes hold :D so enjoy the heat whilst you can. That reminds me, I wonder if Madden has issued his winter forecast yet. :fool::cold: :cold:

Starting to move away from peak heating now with the maxima usually taking place at around 1600-1700hrs. It needs to get a move on

could be enough? Heathrow and Northholt hovering around 36c.

Cloud here has dropped the temperature just below 30C, though the humidity is up.  Fortunately, a light breeze has appeared to reduce the oppressive feel.

Met Office confirm on their twitter feed that 36.7c has been reached... Hottest July day on record.

Beautiful day still, that July record is seriously under threat, 28C here and was up in Angmering forest earlier near Arundel where it was hovering between 29-30C, really is a nice throwback to the 1989-2006 style summers.

 

Heathrow at 36.7C, bye 2006 record.
