It's going to have to be a miracle to stop my forecast being a bust, going to be a little while longer!

Good chance March will pass by without seeing 20C. Not really unusual.

Despite the recent sunny days we have fallen way short of that benchmark, topping out at around 11/12/13C in the warmest spots. Just shows that if the air source isn't favourable then the sun still hasn't yet got the "bite" in it. March, as a whole, straddles the middle ground in terms of annual sun strength and intensity, with most of the month falling in the weaker half of the year.

April 10th London.

8 April, central London. I suspect March may be too unsettled to reach 20C anywhere in the UK.

Must be feeling happy with your predictions.

We've hit 20C today in Aberdeenshire, the last time we got to 20C in the UK it was Halloween. Alex D. #spooky #Easter

cant believe the first 20c in Aberdeenshire thats the uk weather for you,  l

The Scottish Highlands are prone to hitting high temperatures when the sun shines. They always hit an early 20C in spring given the right setup.

Aberdeenshire can often be the warmest spot in the country under the right conditions and those tend to be under a light SW flow with high pressure overhead, under such a set up the fohn effect kicks in, i.e. air descending downslope off the Grampians is warmed quickly meaning places in the lee of the hills can see appreciable warmth. Not surprised therefore to see the first 20 degrees in Aberdeenshire.

I suspect someone will now post the first 25 degrees thread.. always a magic figure - proper warmth.

Clearly an anomaly with Cambridge Weather Station lately.

A few other sites got close, disregarding the error, 20c has not been hit so far this year. in England and Wales.

That's more like it  in SE England we came pretty close in 2003. With the world facing more extremes on either side of the spectrum I'd rate a good chance this will be accomplished before 2030.

Good chance somewhere in England will hit 20 degrees tomorrow, but more so on Friday which looks like many in the SE will wildly hit 20 possibly 21 or 22 degrees. Decent for this time of year but nothing special.

Looks like here could be in contention to be the warmest in the country tomorrow. 20c in the Midlands looks very favoured. Same again on Friday though the SE might just nudge slightly higher.
