If wet and windy fills your boots then fill them.

Then, colder, then less cold but drier.

It sure doesn't, I like my boots empty of water, thank you. :)

Bring on the drier warmer weather.

Its getting time for garden jobs and planting.

Dull and cloudy here, rain only light in nature.

Next week looks more varied, though we never get a northerly as the pattern flattens out more than initially expected. As a consequence north sea shower activity looks non existent. So we are relying on home grown showers developing. We have 850s down to around -6C from Monday through to Thursday morning, so the chance of a mix of rain/sleet/hail/snow from any showers, the more wintry ones being the heaviest ones. Beyond that it looks like a north/south split so turning drier and milder from the end of the week. I do wish the ECM would be correct because there would be some proper spring warmth developing from around day 8 onward (day 11/12 could be pushing 20C on that run if it went further).

Has felt really quite cold the last couple of days, despite higher temperatures.

Today marks the last day of meteorological winter what a shambles, we have been lead up garden path numerous times. I was very optimistic about this Winter, it came to nothing. Life goes on. :)

Will lock this thread in a bit and start a new one as it's spring now and this thread is a little on the long side now.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
