Guildford did very well, about a couple of inches lying by 7:30am. Some of that hanging around still and likely to last into tonight.

Nice one Tom, me being just North of Biggin :)

Hi Noggin

Looks like a weakish streamer set up from the Thames, WSW into SE London, NW Kent and on into Surrey. Trust me to miss it but hoping to see a NE Kent streamer, late tomorrow and on into Thursday, back down on the Kent/Sussex coast.

The snow has pretty much melted here in central Peterborough, just a slushy mess left on the car roof, still reasonable cover on the lawn and in shady spots, but the temperature is now up to 3.7c and dew point risen to 1.5c

Had a snow shower then turned to little snow like balls ( whatever they may be) at least I've seen a few flakes so im happy now. Snow symbols for 6till 9 from met office so i shall wait for my next snow shower :-)

Hi Sara.

Those MO forecasts are really hard to understand I'm a few miles inland to the west and have sleet and then no precipitation tonight. Hastings to the east is forecast rain this evening!

Well I had an interesting am, woke up to 3 inches of snow, then had to take daughter to Haslemere Hospital for 9.40am appointment. The drive across took me through the Surrey Hills (good 6 inches cover up there). 30 min drive took 2.5 hours, Dr had cancelled clinic as he was snowed in! Got sent back across the Surrey Hills to Royal Surrey Guildford, where daughter is much improved and snow is still aplenty ⛄

Bbc forecasts today have been great viewing, they might as well point at the map, shrug their shoulders and walk off

Decided to go ahead with my drive to Bedford this morning, 100% snow cover for the entire journey so seems to have been some widespread lying snow this morning, no disruption on the roads thankfully. About 3-5cm here north of Bedford this morning though melting fast in the sun

After all that precipitation. The end result was a dusting in the plant pot. Oh dear.

Love it! Boston's got nothing on us.

Having just seen these ppn accum. charts, I'll have to correct my earlier post and admit that these were just bands of ppn aligning themselves NE/SW and that snow cover over SE London/NW Kent was not due to a Thames type streamer. As can be seen, those areas further west, fared even better.

Hopefully by Thursday pm, with -10 uppers close to the Kent/Sussex coast, by that time, allied to a NE flow, snow rather than rain will be falling. Also hope that pressure won't be too high, to suppress any convection that may initiate.
