I take it this is the presence of the High Pressure killing off the showers?

Yet another ''Meh, blink and miss it''  event.

This Winter has been really pathetic, I can't believe i've been  getting all excited about a few pathetic flakes blowing around in the wind.

a good month and a bit left to go before I give up, in 2012 I saw 4 foot drifts of snow that lasted for several days and that was in mid March and on the South Coast, so don't believe anyone when they tell you winter is over come the end of Feb.

That being said, I'm not holding out any hope we'll see anything now for the remainder of Winter, another one looks like going by without anything of note, bar a 30 minute flurry that I saw at half four one morning.

Looks like a heavy snow shower heading striaght for central London on the radar to me...can't post the image but the precip just south of Colchester seems to be heading that way.

Looks like that's it folks, what a load of pony.

The Meto have been keen to give me some snow between 5pm and 6pm after every update for last few days but I just can't see where it's going to come from.

Just had the weirdest rush of wintery showers ever, first bit all snow even the light bits, then the heavy bit was wet hail stones, not really sleet, I think it was melting hail, then some heavy snow, then drizzle. Think it's all gone now.

You guys do realise you dont need to look at the Dutch Coast for Streamers dont you ? Please tell me you dont think they travel all the way across the North Sea ??

Every single Streamer event has showers initiating within 50-75 miles of our coast in the shallower waters around the Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Kent coasts, the only snow that comes from Holland and Belgium is frontal snows.

I can see a weak streamer setting up in the perfect place atm, about 50 miles off the Coast making a perfect line which is heading WSW At present, granted it is pretty weak but it is there none the less, probably wont settle though lol

You can add coastal Norfolk to that list, looks like a heavy snow shower up there currently.

Hopefully this can build further into the evening and hopefully deliver at least a dusting for some.

My eyes firmly on that big shower near Ipswich at the moment.

We had a brief sleet/snow shower around 1/2 hour ago, which must have been that radar echo you saw, Matt.  Though it didn't lay, it was a welcome sign of the colder, lower dew point, more convective air mass, which is also evident in the disappearance of the cumuloform clouds of this morning.  Much clearer skies now with signs of convective clouds - almost a taste of what we might see this summer!

Hi all the shop has not closed yet, not time to wave the white flag yet. Radar doesn't look horrendous either. :)

Doesn't look good on radar for my corner now, but the sky shows signs of convection, so I guess we'll see.

I see sudden developments to take place therefore it will be hit and miss, ENE wind is blowing through the Estuary with further injections of colder 850s. Thames Streamer ingredients... I think it will virtually clears by 12:00-3:00am as pressure cuts off the supply, and then in the morning just some flurries, for Kent and Eastern fringes.
