Not on the local ones they're not - the women who do the regionals (from a studio in London, IIRC) are presenters, not meteorologists.

.

Yeah, Kate Kinsella used to read the local news years ago.

Next area of snow to hit us is currently sat N of Newcastle. This area of snow showers will drift S tonight and hit this region later tonight into tomorrow morning.

Isn't there too much of a westerly vector to its movement to take it to the west of the region?

I was thinking the same with the NE'ly currently but it does switch to a N this evening and through to the early hours.

Clearing skies now here with sunny spells, lovely low topped Cb's heading SSW About 40-50 miles to my east a lovely sight to see some convection when looking out towards the North Sea.

Kent Clipper could allign further west with time but a steady train of Cb's in the Snow Machine that is the Southern North Sea, if it does creep westwards it would bring the Ashford to Hastings favoured spots into the Mix later today which I spoke about over the weekend when replying to the lady from Hastings.

Might be a few reports of Kentimetres of Snow later in Kentishire!

Good to hear of the Reports from the Hillier parts of Kentishire/Sussexshire

Thought there might be something as this area traditionally does very well when the winds line up perfectly!

Doesn't sound that promising. The local weather text is even worse.     This Evening and Tonight:

Remaining cold overnight, especially where any localised snow accumulations persist. Further sleet and snow showers are likely, mainly across eastern England and Scotland, leading to icy patches. Elsewhere, generally dry with a widespread frost, locally severe.

Wednesday:

Cold with further isolated wintry showers in the east, snow across hills. Mainly dry elsewhere, with some sunny spells. Further rain, sleet and hill snow arrives in the northwest later.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Brisk northeasterly winds with further wintry showers across some eastern parts Thursday. Otherwise dry and cold. Sunny periods Friday before turning less cold and rather cloudy from the north Saturday

Certainly was snowing hard in battle but as we approached Bexhill the sky lightened so definite boundary of snow shower over us

Cheers, that would explain the likely track.

Isolated wintry showers....there was a warning for heavy snow only yesterday for tomorrow with accumulations!

Yes been in Bexhill all day. The shield did buckle for all of a few minutes to allow some wet flakes through. Otherwise wet.

Where is this from Roy?

This is the latest Meto forecast...

This Evening and Tonight:

Further wintry showers possible overnight. Mainly rain or sleet on coasts, but some snow on hills, especially Kent, perhaps giving localised slight accumulations. Icy stretches likely on untreated roads and pavements. Minimum Temperature -1C.

Wednesday:

A good deal of cloud with further showers of rain or sleet at low levels, and snow on hills. Feeling particularly cold in the brisk breeze. Maximum Temperature 3C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Staying cold with overnight frosts and further wintry showers. Feeling especially cold on Friday due to a strong northeasterly wind. Perhaps turning a little less cold on Saturday.

^^^^^^^^^ Now what worries me slightly is the lack of a mention for Thursday???

Is that a light streamer developing in the Thames albeit of mainly sleet at the min? Radar run seemed to have it appear from nowhere

Good evening all, nearly all the snow we had last night has gone! Temps are now dropping again sfter reaching a high of 4!

Temp now 2.4 dp -0.04

I'm very new to all this and am trying to work out how it works, ie winds, temp, dps

I have been constantly looking at radars etc, one being the mereox one, this shows either cloud or rain on the east coast, is this the sort of thing to watch to see if it comes this way??

Thanks
