The only annoying thing is the temperatures tomorrow expected to be around 5 - 6 degrees. Will melt any snow.

It will only climb to that if it's sunny, I'm thinking it won't be sunny at all.

Looks like the best Southerly location for snow is Berkshire/Wiltshire.  It's that damned M4 - normally it's the dew points but this time the direction.  Some how that road is cursed for snow lovers in the South.

Yup this shows that once you get a very cold pool of air in place things usually take care of themselves. (even if not shown to on the models)

Lol yeah. Its one of the reasons while this cold spell was being predicted by models, and for SouthEast being in the bullseyes for a cold snowy period around this time, I was getting excited, despite the models showing some marginal -850's. Uusally, it all works out in the end.

Light snow still falling, and itf the predicted radar on www.meteoradar.co.uk is anything to go by, London might recieve a good covering by morning! :D

Can't complain about this.....lol.

Was expecting a dusting not prolonged light to moderate snow with some heavy bursts.

Really coming down here in Haverhill (SW Suffolk). We're getting the left-overs from Norwich which although less intense than NE of here still producing some big flakes and heavy falls. If this carries on I'll be going know where tomorrow morning.

Just so that I don't completely collapse of exhaustion whilst waiting in SE London does anyone have any idea what time scale we are looking at for when snow arrives? What time should I put my alarm on for?

Nothing here so far. Hoping for better later hopefully.

Friday

post-17424-0-82766800-1422926030_thumb.p

Fresh to strong easterly wind

With surface and 500mb heights rising, any shower activity will be increasingly squeezed out. Some scattered showers still around coasts are possible.

Temperatures - 2-4C. Bitter wind chill though.

Saturday

post-17424-0-82718700-1422926031_thumb.p

Light to moderate north easterly wind

Mainly dry today with some sunshine. cloud will begin to increase from the north later as a weak front moves south.

Temperatures - 3-6C

Back to sleep for me I think.

Nice increase in ppn rates north of London

Well it has been very very light here, slowly building to the North, but unfortunately it is still skirting past me as it trundles SW.

Nice covering here but we have only light snow, how does the heaviest snow go north and south of here? work that one out.
