I'm pretty sure those showers coming south are going to pass to the west of London if they stay on their current track. Some way to go yet though......as for the Northerly next weekend - I would just forget about it until Friday and check then.

you might be right.. the GEM has it tracking further inland as well.

Looking again at Thursday, the GFS delivers a parcel of 850s of -10C into the region

75-7UK.GIF?02-12

If anything the UKMO looks slightly better than the GFS so maybe the coldest air extending a little further and a little more instability, the UKMO also shows an easterly wind really whipping up at the end of the week so feeling raw, especially over Kent and Sussex.

The only concern is that the precipitation might push through the Dover strait and miss us. We need only a minor adjustment north for something interesting to happen. Either way wintry showers will push through the region between this evening and Thursday midday at least. So always the chance of a dusting near enough anywhere in the region.

That's my main concern, too. I hope I'm being unnecessarily pessimistic, but similar pressure set-ups in 2013 only produced days of raw, cold with a few snow grains in the wind...The North Sea is a tad warmer this year, however.

Hope springs eternal! :yahoo:

Just saw that myself, looking good for convection there, with showers already building. There is a streamer showing itself North East of the Humber, which has built over the past three runs.

I reckon some in Norfolk are going to get a covering looking at the radar - starting to get more interesting.

Why does the wind always veer at the wrong time! :cc_confused:  :cc_confused:

Looks like it! Let's hope the showers don't deteriorate as they head South.
