right then, just for us snow starved folk in the north and east of then region

I'm keeping an eye on that batch of snow showery activity over the east midlands.

The hi-res modelling didn't pick them up too well (06z) and they're considerably further west than modeled and and they're tracking south westwards towards Oxon, Wilts, Berks/Hants and are recycling, whereas modelling had them due south towards London & the South East....

It'll probably amount to nothing, but worth keeping an eye on over the next few hours to see if they can reach our neck of the woods?

If they do reach the north east of the region then it'll just be us snow starved folk slap bang in the middle of our region that see nothing! lol

Yes they might even penetrate the Bristol force field!? :shok:

Okay that was a daft thing to say Bristol and Somerset won't see any of that.

My Village had some some today! :D Although I didnt see any at work!

Don't you live in the Mendips though, the Bristol crowd don't need your assistance you know.  :nonono:

I spend most of my time in Bristol working but live in Somerset. :hi:

Last time it snowed in Bristol the poor people were running out into the streets with rolled up 10 pound notes

If it's all been modeled to far east then maybe ppn in east will move west too??

Wasn't yesterday Euro 4 quite bullish about showers around the Wash & N Home Counties overnight into Tues morning? Not quite that unexpected in that aspect, but for it to be potentially getting closer, that certainly would be a welcome surprise.

In my opinion, the Euro4 has it slightly further East than what the radar is showing too.

Here's midnight again..

Last Thursday Ian's Points West forecast showed heavy snow for tonight from a system moving down the Western side of the UK. That hasn't materialised but isn't it amusing that the shower streamer has kept going in the far SW while a different snowy area has developed and is moving down the Eastern side of the country. This proves that forecasting snow anything other than 2 days ahead (and more likely 24 hours) is nigh on impossible!

I do believe that's either sleet or snow I can see on the harbour cam at St. Ives.

Evening all

Looking at the latest radar images, we could have an interesting night here in Jersey. Our local Met are still going for isolated sleet or snow showers but there's nothing isolated about developments in the channel right now :) Stay safe peeps ;)

Good point Andy, a post of mine a page or two back referred to the reasonable accuracy of Ian's forecasts from three or four days back, quite impressive when all the snow-making parameters must come together to even get the white stuff out of the sky in the first instance and in specific timeframes such as today's events in the SW.  :gathering:

Ian mentioned in his points west forecast that the precip band others have been talking about, he expects to be a bit further west than the graphics showed - obviously in response to the radar showing it a bit further west, as others have been mentioning

1.2C, dp-4.5C. wb -0.7C. Humidity 66%.

Netweather now gives Soton 80% chance of very light snow between midnight and 3am. All is forgiven.
