Seems to have been a slight shift to a more W flow rather than WNW on the radar over the last hour or so, mind you my eyes are going a bit funny with all this radar oggling.

Still showers coming in, might even stay up a bit later tonight and pray that the first flake of winter arrives. :D

First flake of the past 2 years for Winchester!

Keep us updated Mark! You are my human Weather station :D haha.

I don't have a scooby doo what the temp or D.P is here without your updates. I can guess by looking om Xcweather but the nearest station is about 8 miles away.

Haha. No problem, personally i think the conditions are ripe enough for sleet/snow for us, just a case can we see showers get this far and can they still pack a punch!

Its not worth it yet, if I can get a couple more decent ones with lowering temps. its already turning slushy and melting but temperature is getting close now for lying snow to stay. 0.9c

Next potent looking shower looks like tracking 10 miles further south so Glastonbury way maybe?

GTLW - trust you to lower the tone... :nonono:  I'd need more 'snowcover' than that

Same here Beka, March 2013 was the last here. Wouldn't be surprised to get a few flakes overnight though, i'm not too far from you. :)

It hasnt been that "old fashioned" - i would've seen 3 or 4 days of lying snow by now if it was, even if they were only a dusting or an inch or two.

And i definitely would've experienced a number of falling snow days.

Really - in Bristol !

Come on snow in Bristol is pretty rare - even in the 80's I can only remember very occasional snow

Let's just say it was one of the less riskier captures.  :D

Hmm...

81/82 a number of heavy snowfalls

84

Jan 87 - a classic 24hr blizzard - about mid-Jan i think.

Numerous winters with snow lying on a number of occasions each winter.

Worst snow winters were about 72-77, virtually snowless.

Noughties until Feb 09, although i think we had a dump late Nov 06 or 07?

Lying snow is usually seen here most winters on at least 3 or 4 occasions, albeit a day or two and not v deep, bar....

78/79

81/82

87

91

94 or 95?

There's some top banter in this thread :D that's the beauty of the regional threads, people get along most of the time and the rules aren't as strict as the mod thread!

Sadly, can't see any showers reaching Oxford tonight :( but it looks like the South coast have showers incoming!
