this might be interesting, friend who works at LJA who's friend works in the ATC, said the prognosis short term (3-6 hours) is rain then snow, and back to rain.

My temp and dp are starting to drop.

temp 2.8C

DP 1.0C

not entirely sure what is happening, went outside, and it actually felt cold even without any wind. sleet as opposed to rain

Dry here at the moment but with a decent covering of snow still on the ground.

Be interesting to see whether that will be topped up overnight as our little is it or isn't it a polar low makes its presence felt.

Currently 0.5c here.

Net-wx radar has the first batch of ppn rapidly turning wintry as it moves inland... not long till it arrives and we find out! (Also seems to be turning wintry where it was previously rain in N.I)

But being gutted at a no snow or delighted with a tonking is only the same as football fans celebrating (or not). I could say the same to people who get dumped by their wife / partner, same result, no one died and their are worse things in life.

Yes I know :)

meanwhile I have wet snow :D

Very heavy sleet and hail here. Just 1C lower (The DP) and we'd have at least an inch of snow by now :(

wow just stuck my head out the window and recieved a face full of ice cold rain.. it was akin to biting into a choc ice, and then getting untimely brainfreeze.

Just stuck my head outside and carried out a close up security light precipitation check and it's definately falling as sleet or fine wet snow.
