Oh well the snow was very fine and sleety in nature, very very light stuff. We don't seem to be getting any heavy stuff which is a pity as we would have a very decent cover now. Our best snowfalls always come from frontal affairs - so far this winter all our snow has come courtesy of convection.

Perhaps February will deliver a full on frontal assault - the best ones though are those that don't mark the change to milder air as is often the case, Jan 26 2013 a very good example. Its been ages since we have seen a frontal attack come unstuck and either fizzle over us, or be forced back south, such features have become very rare.

Good Evening  :cold: here in Macclesfield it is bucketing down and has been for the last 20 mins, Nicely topped up what was around 5/6 cm to around 8cm Temp of 0c seems to have dropped of now the heavier stuff - fine light snow falling, looking at the radar the system looks like its pivoting sse so those further south in the region should see some of the white stuff soon!!  :yahoo:  :bomb:  :cold:

Where abouts in Glossop are you? If I recall most of Glossop is around 200m ASL, I know the pub on the A624 is over 300m ASL, you in that area?
